1 Corinthians 2, Part 11
Christ Our Life, Him IN Us
By Tammy Lacock
“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” (1 Cor. 2:14, KJV)
Do you know that Christ lives IN you if you have believed in Christ as Savior?
Warren Litzman asks this question and continues to focus on the importance of this revelation knowledge that every believer now has Christ IN them. As believers, we are saved in spirit, joined together as one spirit IN Christ, but do we know that He lives IN us? Do we understand that we are born again into a new life, our old lives are passed away? Do we understand that we are new creations, with Christ as our new life? Warren urges us to dig into the Scriptures, and more specifically into Paul’s epistles, to receive this revelation. Paul reveals to us being IN Christ 146 times!
Christ, Himself, revealed only to Paul this final gospel of Grace. And now Paul passes it on to us. Paul started the Christian church because his message of Christ IN us meant we, as believers, are now Christ-persons. Our new life is Christ. Our new life is Christ as us. He understood that God’s ultimate purpose and intention from the beginning of the world was for Christ to live in every human being (Eph. 1:4). It took Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection for our old lives to die with Him and for Christ to arise IN us, for Him to be our new life, our new identity. With Christ as our new life, we stand before God as His children, joint-heirs with Christ. We are now ready to enter into our Father’s house in heaven.
In 1 Corinthians 2:14, Warren explains that the natural man Paul speaks of can be a born-again believer who doesn’t know Christ lives IN them. Their mind will remain natural if they don’t receive this revelation. They won’t gain a spiritual understanding of Christ as their new life if they’re wasting their minds on worldly things. We must stick with Paul’s epistles if we are to receive this revelation knowledge and live fully and completely as Christ-persons. This revelation is necessary if we are to move from a natural mind to a spiritual mind, that of Christ’s mind.
“Let this mind be IN you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 2:5, KJV)
Christ lives IN born-again believers!! What a glorious gift of Grace!
Will you let your mind go there?
Let Paul’s epistles, along with the Holy Spirit, help you.
