1 Corinthians 2, Part 3
Till The Whole World Knows
By Tammy Lacock
“Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” (1 Cor. 2:8, KJV)
Warren Litzman explains that the mystery of Christ, God’s plan before the creation of the world, was not known to the “princes of the world” before Christ’s death on the cross. The “princes” were the leaders, preachers, and prophets of old such as Abraham, Jacob, Moses, David, and Elijah, to name a few. The first time the Bible refers to the mystery of Christ, that of being born again to a new life with Christ as our life, was when Jesus spoke to Nicodemus. You may recall, Nicodemus was more confused when he left his meeting with Jesus then when he came. God wasn’t ready to reveal His plan.
God raised up ONLY Paul to deliver this new gospel, the gospel of grace, to anyone and everyone. At the cross, as Paul repeats in all of his writings, Christ fulfilled the law by his death and resurrection. By God’s grace, our old lives died with Christ, and we rise with Him as our new life. He gave his life for us so that we may have life IN him. As believers, we are no longer subject to what we do to be saved. We are saved by grace. Christ is made unto us righteousness; therefore, we are now bona fide sons and daughters of God. Our new life is eternal. We are on our way to our Father’s house in heaven. Through Christ, God is preparing us for entering into His kingdom.
Paul was the first born-again believer. He was the first Christian or Christ-person. He was the first to know God’s plan of putting Christ in every believer. Christ revealed this to Paul and now Paul urges us, through every one of his epistles, to believe on Christ so that we too will be born again IN Christ and continue to grow in our relationship with him while we are here. He knew that this was God’s plan for each and every one of us before the foundation of the world.
Before Christ’s return, this new grace gospel must reach all corners of the earth...till the whole world knows.
How blessed are we to now know God’s plan, the great mystery of Christ as our Life, that was hidden through all the ages?!
Like Paul, will you pass it on?
