Ephesians 3, Part 9
What is a Christian?
By Tammy Lacock
“Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ.” (Eph. 3:4, KJV)
A Christian is a person who lives in Christ and Christ lives in him or her. This is it, the “mystery of Christ” that Paul emphasizes here in Ephesians 3:4 and in all 14 of his Epistles.
So why is it that most Christians don’t know that Christ lives in them? Well, because this great mystery isn’t being preached in our churches! And yet for over 2000 years, it’s been right here in Paul’s writings all along. He received this revelation directly from Christ and he’s passing it on to us. We need only to yield to the Holy Spirit for this knowledge to be revealed in us believers as well.
As a Christian, we become a “new creation” and we take on a new identity. Christ IS our new life. He is our identity. There is no separation from Christ any longer. We NOW stand before God as His children, joint heirs with Christ because He sees Christ and his righteousness IN us.
Will you reveal this mystery of Christ to a fellow believer today?
