Excellency of Knowledge of Christ, Part 12: Nothing Else Matters
Nothing Else Matters

“Yeah doubtless, I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Jesus Christ: my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung so that I may win Christ.” (Philippians 3:8)
Warren Litzman begins this week’s podcast with One Baptism, one of several main points Apostle Paul reveals in his “excellency of the Knowledge of Jesus Christ.”
Warren explains that there is only one baptism for the believer. That is, being fully immersed in Christ by the Holy Spirit. Completely immersed as one body of believers in Him. Paul goes on to say that we were made for just this, for all believers to be baptized, fully immersed, into Christ. We are brought back to Him through this baptism, no longer of water but of the Holy Spirit. The baptism of the Holy Spirit into Christ supersedes any water baptism. This is the only baptism we need. And we need only to believe.
“For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 12:13, KJV)
What a glorious gift! By just believing, we are now one in Him. He becomes and is our new life, even as we walk our daily lives. To the ongoing believer, this is where our love affair with Him grows. This is where we begin to truly understand Him as Savior. This is where our minds begin to renew as we learn more of Him and our new life in Him. Paul tells us that once we believe, we are an entirely new creation. Our old lives, our histories, are dead. Christ IS our new life and it’s now time to get to know Him. It becomes a personal relationship now that we understand there is no separation between us and Him. He’s our life!
