Romans 7, Part 9: Let’s Get Passed The Past
Let’s Get Passed The Past
By Tammy Lacock
“Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit into God.” (Romans 7:4)
In this podcast, Warren Litzman explains that Apostle Paul wanted believers to know that when Christ died on the cross, we died too. Our past lives, the old person died. Our sins and our past lives are dead and buried. We are no longer bound by the law and the Devil. Christ’s resurrection is also our resurrection into a new life in Christ. Every believer is baptized into Christ. By God’s grace, we have been literally placed into Christ, and He is our new life.
So how do we get rid of our past?
According to Paul in verse 4, by being married to Christ. He completes us. Nothing and no one else could ever complete us. In Christ, we go from being unsaved, driven by Satan and sin, to being saved, redeemed, and completed by Christ and free to be who God created us to be.
Out with the past ... and in with our new life in Christ! He is indeed alive in us NOW!
